Connect Stripe with einzly: Automatically record payments & fees

Stripe is one of the most popular payment providers for online and credit card payments. If you accept payments through Stripe, einzly can automatically record everything — every payment, every fee, every receipt. No more manual data entry, no forgotten transactions.

01What the integration does

The Stripe integration in einzly connects your Stripe account directly with your bookkeeping. As soon as a payment comes in through Stripe, everything else happens automatically:

  • Automatic sync of all Stripe payments as income
  • Automatic recording of Stripe fees as expenses (category: bank fees)
  • Receipt automatically linked — the Stripe receipt serves as proof
  • Duplicate prevention — the same charge is never recorded twice
  • Multi-currency support: CHF, EUR, USD, GBP and more

02How to connect Stripe with einzly

Setup takes less than a minute. All you need is an active Stripe account.

1
Open Settings

Go to Settings → Integrations in einzly.

2
Connect Stripe

Click "Connect Stripe". You will be redirected to Stripe.

3
Authorize einzly

Log into your Stripe account and authorize einzly to access your account. The connection uses Stripe Connect (OAuth) — einzly never sees your Stripe login credentials.

4
Done — sync starts automatically

Once connected, einzly automatically syncs every day at 04:00 — covering your payments from the last 30 days.

03What gets recorded automatically?

For every successful payment, einzly creates two bookings: an income entry (gross amount) and an expense entry (Stripe fee). This keeps your bookkeeping clean — earnings and fees are clearly separated.

Concrete example

A customer pays CHF 500.00 by credit card. Stripe charges a fee of 2.9% + CHF 0.30.

WhatAmountCategoryReceipt
Income: "Credit card payment"CHF 500.00Payment receivedStripe receipt
Expense: "Stripe fee"CHF 14.80Bank feesStripe receipt

Net amount: CHF 485.20 lands in your account. Your bookkeeping is accurate: gross income and fee are cleanly separated.

04When does sync happen?

  • einzly automatically syncs every day at 04:00 — covering the last 30 days of Stripe payments
  • You can also trigger a manual sync anytime in Settings
  • Only successful payments are imported — failed or refunded payments are ignored
Even if you only use Stripe occasionally — the integration saves you from manually entering every single payment and fee. Especially with many small transactions, the time savings are enormous.
